Back from California to the deep freeze

Sump pump was OK this year. No flooding.

We tried park 'n fly at Springhill suites in Earth City, but New Year's eve there was no shuttle driver and we had to take a cab. Avalon started right up after sitting for over a week. We put a new battery in it and I had to clean the terminal of corrosion.

When we got back to Decatur, there was a couple inches of ice/snow in the driveway, but just drove right over it.

Fired up my big snowblower just for the practice. Around 10F anyhow, so you don't want to be outside shoveling very long either.

Camry was parked outside. Moisture frozen inside the windows. It cranked pretty slowly, but fired up. Sunny day helped warm the inside of the car up. Not sure if the moisture was from rainfall. The tire I had fixed at Walmart was nearly flat again.

Brought back some persimmons. I can have one every morning for a week.

  1. I can store my milk and some frozen veg and bread out in the garage. It's below freezing, around 28F now.
