We had 1.5 inches of rain over a couple of days. Trees and bushes really pushing out. Our magnolia just beginning to bloom.
I expressed some seed from grape tomatos, and germinated them in a pot. They are a couple inches tall.
There is already a rabbit hanging out by the pond. Probably a momma rabbit.
Some riding mowers are out already. Lawns are really greening up. Lawn care companies are applying fertilizer, and the soil temp is high enough to green them up.
I've already grilled when we had some nice sunny days.
I saw bok choy transplants at ?Menards. They could be harvestable pretty quick before summer gets hot. Also want to try to plant some garlic.
If I make extra transplants, they could go in at the BBBS Partnership Park garden.
Bird singing in the morning is a change. Next comes nest building.
I cut down a big dead pine. That was an Advil moment. Trimmed my peach tree. Didn't take much because of all the pruning done the last 2 years. Wonder if we'll get any fruit this year?
Bought more rose bushes. One was a dud last year--produced long canes but no flowers. The other 4 on the side of the garage are really black, like winter kill. Might need to replace some.
