I guess the warm air from underground keeps the fan unit warm enough to melt snow. And the drip keeps freezing. We've been below freezing for like a week. I guess the entire pipe is warmer than the air. So even freezing rain can drip down the outside of the pipe.
Iris leaves still green in the snow.
